Summer History Scholar Program

The Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Program awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors with a dedicated interest in American history, for summer study in New York City. In 2011, ten undergraduates will be named Gilder Lehrman History Scholars and be invited to a five-week program (June 26-July 30). Thirty students will receive invitations to a one-week program (June 18-25). The aim is to identify and support the top undergraduate majors in American history across the country. Since 2003, more than 400 students have participated in the program, and many have gone on to graduate programs at Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, Columbia, Yale, UCLA, the University of Michigan, and other prestigious institutions.
